*Dish of the week* Sorbet by Yasmin Jeewa / Zainab

Summer is still in full swing, and this is a quick and refreshing dessert to share with the family, braai/bbq and not forgetting its a great palette cleanser.
I got this recipe from a facebook group, by the lovely Yasmin Jeewa, who said it was made by Zainab.

HONEYMELLON SORBET

1 mellon
70g sugar
2 Tb fresh lime juice


  • Liquidise and put in an ice cream machine.

STRAWBERRY SORBET

500g strawberries 
2 Tb fresh lime juice 
2 level Tb mazeina (cornflour) dilute with a little water  
1 cup sugar (to taste)

  • Liquidise and put in an ice cream machine.

MANGO SORBET

2 mangos 
2 Tb fresh lime juice
1 cup water
sugar (if necessary)

  • Liquidise  and put in an ice cream machine.

  • Set each layer firmly before putting the next layer, as you lay them in a cake tin.
  • Decorate with fresh fruit.
  • You can use pineapple/granadilla sorbet for a yellow layer.
