Got hit by the cold front and all I am craving is hot home-made cinnabons!
There are different toppings to use, but the classic is always the best. 
I will be sharing the cream cheese filling which is my absolute favourite!

This is one of the 2 recipes we always use to make cinnabons,
this is the classic recipe,
the previous recipe I shared is Arabic Dough recipe which I have shared before.



- DOUGH -


INGREDIENTS


1/4 cup water
1 cup milk
1/2 cup melted butter
1 beaten egg
1 tsp vanilla 
1/2 tsp salt 
1/2 cup sugar 
4 + 1/2 cups flour
1 pkt yeast 


METHOD

  • Melt the butter with water and milk, than leave to cool. 
  • Add vanilla and the egg.
  • Mix in the dry ingredients and make a a dough (can add more milk if its too stiff).
  • Leave to raise.
  • Than divide into 2 and roll both separately into big circles.



- FILLING -

INGREDIENTS 

1 cup brown sugar 
5 Tb cinnamon powder 
1/2 cup butter 

METHOD

  • Mix well together.
  • Spread 1/2 the mixture on one roti with your fingers, can sprinkle pecan nuts (if desired), and than roll into a swiss roll.
  • Repeat with the other rolled out dough as well. 
  • Cut about 2 fingers sizes and place flat down into muffin tins (or a flat baking dish), leave to raise. 
  • Bake at 180 degrees for about 15 - 20 minutes.
  • Must be baked till light brown, and they should be soft. 

- ICING -

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup butter or margarine  
1 + 1/3 cup icing sugar 
1/2 cup plain cream cheese


METHOD

  • Beat the butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
  • Than add the cream cheese and beat some more.
  • Drop spoonfuls on the hot cinnabons, can sprinkle more pecan nuts if desired.

My side of the world keeps getting cold fronts just as we start getting use to the sun 
thinking spring is starting. 
Keep warm and make some cinnabons!

  7. they look yum and i am going to try them infact funny enough , my husband was asking me if we have ever tried cinnabuns and i got confused with cinnamon swirls .
