This was such an easy and quick recipe,
however being that I am fasting
it was incredibly hard to not lick the batter and whipped cream!!!!
I don't know why I was so late on the mug cake bandwagon because
it is a great recipe especially with Ramadan upon us,
if you forget to make a dessert for after Tarawee,
or you're craving something sweet and chocolatey
this is a life saver.

Now this recipe is for 2 mugs,
which I did double because I wanted to make more.
I served it with whipped cream,
you can serve it with raspberries and whipped cream,
dust with icing sugar
or drizzle with more chocolate.
I will say it's quite filling so I think next time personally I will opt to make this recipe
 in tea cups.

I was going through a lot of recipes trying to see what to try out
and I decided to go with a simple chocolate recipe,
but I went with my instinct and changed it up a bit.

- INGREDIENTS -

1/3 Cup Self Raising Flour

2 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1/4 Cup Castor Sugar
1 Large Egg
2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
1/4 Cup Milk
1 Tbsp Rose Water
3 Tbsp Vanilla Essence

* You can use Rose Essence if you have some, this scent and flavour is more intense, however go with a few drops and taste because you don't want to over power the chocolate.

TO SUBSTITUTE THE SELF RAISING FLOUR USE:

1/3 Cup Cake Flour
1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt

- CREAM TOPPING INGREDIENTS -

250ml Fresh Cream
1/2 Cup Icing Sugar
1/2 Tsp Vanilla Essence
1 Tsp Rose Water

    1. It takes a few tries and a few recipes. I will say next time or with this recipe make them in tea cups. They look so cute, so yummy and the portion size isn't overwhelming.

    1. I personally don't trust a lot of recipes shared because they sometimes flop. I will say timing is important and it takes a few tries to get it right. Do try it out and like I mentioned try it in tea cups, also bake them separately it works out better.

    1. You can bake this in an oven, obviously put it in cupcake holders and you can remove it and pop the cake when done in a tea cup. You can use this recipe as a cake recipe as well.
