Pateriya Pie [patra/patta leaves] (RAMADAN SAVOURY)
Monday, May 11, 2015So this is a veggie dish that mum tried to make into a savoury, we actually baked a few fresh to see how it would taste and it actually tasted pretty good. We didn't use freshly made pateriya leaves, we used the ones that come in a packet, ready made, sold at the supermarket. It a quick savoury to make and keep around, its different than the meat pies everyone will be making.
Remember I shall be posting 3 savoury recipes a week! It will be pie making week :D so stay subscribed and I hope you enjoy.
SAUCE
Peri-Peri Sauce
Tomato Sauce
Red Chilli Powder
- Our pie dough was ready cut rectangle squares that mum rolled out a bit.
- Add the sauce on one side.
- Cut the ready made pateriya in half and place on top.
- As you see in the picture, the side with no sauce cut a fridge 2 cm long or a bit more.
- Roll the pie closed and when it comes to the fringe and twist it and go over the rolled part.
- Brush with egg and top with poppy seeds for garnish.
- Pack into styrofoam or tupperwares and freeze.
- Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees till golden brown.
