A twist on Indian street food! (includes a layering video)

This is great way to fill up your buffet table,
it adds a great spicy option and a snack for everyone to munch on while at a dinner party,
or at any party, or even just for the family.
I have a video of how layer all the components to this dish on top of each other.
This is also a dish that can be served and made all over the world,
so all my international viewers can make this and have no issue at all.
I really hope you enjoy this,
munch munch munch away!!

Served at room temperature so don't store anything in the fridge after making it.
You can make it up ready and leave on a table for people to eat,
or do it buffet style and let everyone make their own.

INGREDIENTS

2 Tins of Chickpeas (rinsed)

2 Onions thinly slicked soaked in vinegar

A LOT of samoosa pur (pastry) cut up into random thin strips -
fried till golden and crispy

Soak amli in vinegar and water for a couple of hours.
Than strain; add red chilli powder, little ghor (jaggery) or sugar and boil.
Leave to cool down.

(this is a type of Indian gooseberry, if you don't find fresh in your supermarket,
if you cannot find check Spice shops, also dried ones work just as well)

Freshly Chopped Coriander

VIDEO METHOD - STEPS\

  1. Add the chickpeas,
  2. next add the potatoes,
  3. top up with some onions,
  4. than the cucumber mix,
  5. add the crispy samoosa pur (pastry) - a lot or a little depending what you like,
  6. pour the amli sauce, not a lot otherwise it will be sour,
  7. finally garnish with some freshly chopped coriander and than serve.

    1. It does have that sour taste to it, but it works so beautifully with the potatoes, chickpeas and the crispy fried pastry.

    1. The steps if you think of it isn't that much, but it is worth it. I know here when there's buffet spread in an occasion this is always on the table; spread in big bowls and people go around making their own. There is another version also but with a yogurt topping, Inshallah will share that soon.
