Happy Independence Day Botswana
For those who don't know where I am from, I am from Botswana.
It is a landlocked country in Southern Africa
and I was born and raised here.
This is my home and I was just inspired to bring some inspiration to my morning smoothie.
With Summer rolling around (even though it's still cold - out of no where),
I will be sharing a lot of healthy smoothies,
which are super easy to whip up and have for breakfast.
Now I know no one will be making it this weekend lol
HUGE FAMILY BREAKFASTS OR BRUNCH shall be in order
sooo...keep this for the day when you got to head back to work or school
this will wake you up instantly and get you back on the healthy track.
- SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS -
1/2 Cup Almond Milk
1/4 Cup Water
1/3 Cup Active Yoghurt
1 Banana
1 Cup Fresh Blue Berries
1 Cup Pineapple Chunks
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Honey
1 tsp Microbiotics Powder
Blue Food Colouring
- GARNISH INGREDIENTS -
Fresh Coconut Slices
Black Seeds
- METHOD -
'- Pop everything into the blender, I suggest adding the blue food colouring in last.
- Do a taste test and if you want it sweeter add more honey or if you want it thicker add another banana.
- Once you're happy with the taste and consistency, add a few drops of blue food colouring, whipping it till you get the colour you're happy with.
- Leave to chill in the fridge till it's cold enough, no one likes a warm smoothie.
- Now to garnish, there is so many ways to make the blue pop more but I was inspired by my country's flag so I went with coconut shavings for the white and I LOVE BLACK SEEDS so I used them.
So I hope you enjoyed your weekend,
I also hope you give this recipe a try and you like it.
