Don't get this confused with the Licorice Ice-cream Dessert I have posted before,
which I will link
for those that want to check that out.
Again you know me and my love for cold, non-baked desserts,
so this is the perfect refreshing dessert.
To all my Muslim viewers
I hope you have a blessed week,
and an amazing Eid.
Please remember me and my family in your duas (prayers).

1 Litre milk
Condensed Milk (to sweeten)
Woolworths Licorice Toffee Sweets (small packet)
- When adding the condensed milk to the milk taste as your pour so it's not over sweet.
- Allow the licorice toffee sweets to melt in the above mixture, by boiling on low heat.
- Then, add 2 tsp falooda ghas powder (check the asian/Indian section of the super market).
- Add a small tin of nestle cream or fresh cream and whisk well.
- When the mixture has thickened a bit, pour into moulds and place in the fridge for a couple of hours till it has set.
- When you're about to serve drizzle some fresh cream over the dessert or melted milky bar chocolate.

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome :) I love quick and easy dessert recipes, bonus if they're the non baking kind lol
DeleteThis sounds so easy! I'm not sure they have this brand of licorice here in the US, but will look for it. Have a lovely Eid.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you will find this brand, but if you find any halal pure soft licorice sweets or traditional black licorice will do too. Hope these options help, hope you have a lovely Eid as well.
DeleteOh wow never thought to make licorice ice cream! Looks interesting and will have to try it one day!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Eid
This recipe is like a jelly dessert, the one I linked in the post is for the ice-cream. It's so unusual but you will be making batches after tasting it. Inshallah you should hope you have a good Eid too :)
DeleteI have never heard of licorice desserts! something new for me.
ReplyDeleteYeah you don't hear much of it. The craze has been licorice sweets in my side of the world over the pass few years lol but it's so different to serve or take to someones place you know your dessert won't clash with someone elses lol

ReplyDeleteI am a tea lover! Ah I must try licorice tea now. You should let me know how it comes out and what brand of licorice you use if you do so I can update this post for international viewers to make it easy for them.
DeleteWooow. I really love licorice, but I've never thought of combining it with cake. I would actually really like to try make this dessert, but the thing is I'm not very good at making any type of dessert.

haha I'm not good at desserts either especially baking, that is why I just stick to cold desserts. Inshallah give it a try and you may just surprise yourself.
DeleteI'm going to have to keep an eye out for falooda Ghas!
ReplyDeleteYou can find it in Malako (if that is how you spell it) I know its a store in the uk. Also if you don't you can try using geletin (halal) to help set it because it is a jelly, falooda is actually the indian version of jelly. But I know it can be found because my mum saw last time she was there.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is new to me, seeing a dessert in gray color. Unfortunately, the ingredient Falooda ghas isn't available in my place. But, looks so delish!

It is so different, and you can top up with sprinkles and color it up if that's what you prefer. If you cannot find falooda you can substitute it with gelatin, basically the falooda helps set it in a jelly form so it can be substituted.
DeleteThis looks yummy! Can't wait to try it myself :) Hope you had a fantastic Eid
