New York Fries - Cheesy Amli Fries
Saturday, May 06, 2017
So my aunty loves these fries!
She has shared them on facebook and obviously we had to give them a try.
Trying it the first time I must say I need to master my cheesey melt so it's perfect.
Nevertheless if you're into experimenting in the kitchen
and you're tired of plain old potato fries,
why not give these a shot.
NEW YORK FRIES!
NEW YORK FRIES!
- INGREDIENTS -
1 Cubed Green Pepper
1 Cubed Onion
1 Cubed Tomato
Sliced Spring Onions (handful)
1/4 cup Amla/Amli - sauce
Sliced Potatoes
1 - 2 Fresh Cream
1/2 Nestlé Cream'
3 - 4 cups Gouda/Cheddar Cheese
- METHOD -
- To make you Amli sauce; soak them in boiling water. Strain and season with salt and pepper. You can also use a ready made Amli sauce. Just to clarify Amla is an Indian Gooseberry.
- Mix together your green pepper, onion, tomato, spring onions and leave aside in a bowl.
- While your chips are frying you can make your cheese sauce.
- Mix together fresh cream, nestlé cream and 3 cups of your shredded cheese. I will say don't add so much fresh cream or nestlé cream otherwise it can over powder the flavour of the cheese.
- If you do not want to serve it with melted cheese you can serve with sour cream.
- When your chips are golden season with salt and layer them on to the platter you'll be serving them in.
- Now add all your cubed pepper, onion, tomato and spring onion mix on top.
- Drizzle your melted cheese and the amli sauce next.
- Garnish with fresh coriander.
- Leave aside the rest of the melted cheese for a chip dip as well. Great alternative when having a burger as well.
Hope you enjoy this recipe, it's a twist from the usual chips you serve.
There are much more New York Fry recipes which I am excited to try out for you all and share.
I personally think this recipe would go great with burgers like I mentioned above.
Serve these chips on the side or even in the burger.
These are some burger recipes I have shared on my blog before,
so check them out for you next home-made burger meal -
