Saffron Mayo Dipping Sauce
Wednesday, May 20, 2020
Who doesn't like a quick mayo dip sauce,
that elevates the taste of whatever you're serving it on the side of or
with?
Now I actually made this to go with a recipe I shared previously.
However the dish didn't end up needing the dipping sauce,
but the sauce was so yummy and we made use of it so I had to share
it.
for the previous recipe.
I also tries it again recently with chicken burgers and I added more chili
cause I like more of a kick,
Personally I like to change things up with my mayo sauce,
I don't always like to make the same old mayo + peri peri sauce or a mayo +
lemon + garlic sauce.
This sauce still has the classic base but with a bit of a kick to it,
- WHAT CAN I USE IT FOR? -
Serve it on the side of grilled fish
Dipping sauce fried chicken (nuggets)
Dipping sauce for fries
Burger Sauce
Wrap Sauce
Pita Sauce
Sandwich sauce
Onion Ring Dip
French Fry Dip
etc
Now this recipe was actually inspired by a recipe that I saw Jamie Oliver
make,
but I changed it up a bit.
- INGREDIENTS -
1 Cup Mayo or Miracle Whip
2 Cloves Garlic
Pinch of Salt
1/4 tsp chili powder (depends on your heat preference)
1/4 tsp Smoked Paprika
Few Strands of Saffron (pinch)
- HACK -
If you don't have saffron or because it is quite a pricey spice to have
so you need an affordable way to make this,
try to get your hands on some good quality saffron essence and use
a drop or 2 instead of the strands.
Now I will say it tastes much better to use the saffron strands
itself,
however I understand sometimes not everyone can and so this is a lovely
way to get a similar flavour in a more affordable way.
It is so easy to pin a recipe you like right onto your pinterest
boards,
simply click on the picture and it will automatically take you to
pinterest.
When you share the picture the link shares as well,
which makes it easier for you and any one else to find the
recipe.
As you can see this saffron mayo dipping sauce is a super easy and quick
recipe to make.
Nothing beats a classic,
but sometimes switching it up really enhances the meal.

I share a lot of the behind the scenes on there and reviews:
