Jalapeño Poppers
Monday, March 20, 2017
I won't lie I had never tried a Jalapeno Popper before
and I had been seeing it all over my social media
so I had to give it a try.
I will say I love it as a side dish,
snack or even a light meal
because it is filling (depending on what you stuff it with).
INGREDIENTS
Shredded Chicken Fillet
Grated Cheese
Bread Crumbs
Eggs
Mayo
Crushed Green Chillies (green chutney)
METHOD
- Oil you hands up cause sometimes your hands can end up burning after making these.
- Slit your jalapeño down the middle but not all the way down and remove all the seeds.
- I shredded the leftover chicken and stuff the peppers following by cheese.
- Place back in the freezer till you're about to fry.
- Heat up your oil and fry your poppers till they're golden.
- Preheat your oven and pop them in for 10 minutes till they get crispy.
- Make a quick dipping sauce; mixing the yoghurt and green chillies/chutney and serve.
- There are many more dipping sauce recipes out there this is just one I quickly whipped up.
I hope you enjoyed this Jalapeño Poppers recipe,
don't forget you can use the seeds to plant and grow your own Jalapeños like we are!
This is a great side to have or snack to have
for movie night or watching the match munches.
It was my first attempt and I must say it tasted really good.
Can never go wrong with double coating.
I have shared some other side dishes before:

As Salam Alikum sister thanks looks so yummy will have to make , just wondering is it very spice or mildly spice ?
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the batch of Jalapenos you get, sometimes it's not so spicy and sometimes it is. I will say make your filling not so spicy just to balance it out. Mines was not spicy so that was good.
DeleteWasalams :) jazakallah sister
DeleteOh I think this looks like something the hubby would like. Will have to try it for him
ReplyDeleteMust try I am sure he will love it. It's a lovely snack or light starter to have.
DeleteThese look amazing! My hubby's body can not handle spicy stuff so I don't make anything spicy but these I can get on board with!
ReplyDeleteThese aren't so spicy, it depends on the batch you get but just to be on the safe side the filling shouldn't be so spicy and the cheese also doesn't make it over spicy.
DeleteMy Husband loves these, thanks for the easy recipe and the tips about oiling your hands before.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! No one wants to end up with Jalapeno hands lol
DeleteWow, I love the jalapeno poppers! I tried making them at home last time but I think I got the chilies instead of jalapenos and they were extremely spicy.
