Home-made Lemonade
Friday, January 01, 2021Life has been very zesty lately,
so I made Lemonade to enjoy it some more.
Staring the year off on a refreshing and sweet note. I know half the world is in winter enjoying the cold - yes, I'm the person that loves winter ❄, so who wants to switch places with me? Lol, anyway, but on my side of the world, it's full-on summer! ☀️
Let me paint you a picture; imagine a hot Sunday, the pool is crystal clear
and glistening under a blue sky, with the sun shining and after a lovely
swim, you're laying by the pool sipping on a chilled glass of fresh
home-made lemonade🍋.
Drooling yet?🤤
Well, drool no more, it's super easy to make, and it's just the refreshing drink you on a hot summer's day. Side note, how adorable are these bee printed tumblers. I saw them at
Mr Price Home, and being someone who is bee obsessed 🐝, I just had to get them.
INGREDIENTS
4 - 5 Lemons (1 1/2 Cups Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice)
1 1/4 Cup Sugar
6 Cups Water
Handful Fresh Mint
1 Lemon - sliced
- I ended up running low on regular sugar on this particular day when I was taking pictures, so I used Castor Sugar. The next time I made Home-made Lemonade I used regular sugar. So either will do for the recipe.
METHOD WITH PICTURES
1. Squeeze out the juice from the lemons; you may need to use more or fewer
lemons to get the 1 1/2 Cups of Lemon Juice and pour it into a jug.
2. Add into the jug water and stir with the lemon juice.
3. Next, add in your sugar slowly. Taste along the way, so you don't over sweeten the lemonade. I added 1 1/4 cups of sugar, which you may adjust depending on how sweet you like your lemonade.
4. Stir it all together and let it chill in the fridge.
5. If you don't want to water down your lemonade with regular ice cubes when you serve the lemonade, you make the lemonade ice-cubes. Just make extra lemonade and pour into an ice tray, with some fresh mint in each cube, and leave it in the freeze overnight.
6. Before serving, slice one lemon and put them in the lemonade, along with
some lemonade iced cubes (or regular ice cubes) and fresh mint.
