2 Ingredient Bagel and Garlic Bread Dough Recipe

So Instagram was buzzing lately with this new quick dough recipe.
Now Tasty made a video making this bread which is where I originally saw it
and I remembered when I saw someone try it out on insta
so I decided to also give it a go.
This looked super easy and quick to make
and so I put it to the test to see how this dough recipe compares the arabic dough,
which has been a go-to recipe for ages now.

because it really is quick to make,
because it really is quick to make,
the dough is light (no yeast),
and tastes good.
However, I found that it's only good for that meal,
you can't make a large batch to keep for the next few days,
I also found the dough a tad bit hard to work with (but do able)
which is why I will always love the arabic dough recipe.
But this is a LIFE SAVER in a rush trust me.
If you're hosting a big breakfast (Sunday breakfast, Eid breakfast etc)
this is a go-to bagel recipe.
I also love how this is easy to whip up if you need some
garlic bread for some soup or a braai (bbq).

- ARABIC DOUGH RECIPE -
- NOTE -
I had to double the quantity to make more than 4 bagels.
- DOUGH INGREDIENTS -
1 3/4 Cup Snowflake Self raising Flour
1 Cup Yogurt
1 Cup Yogurt
- GARNISH INGREDIENTS -
Sesame Seeds
Poppy Seeds
Freshly Crushed Garlic
Olive Oil
Parsley
Egg
Poppy Seeds
Freshly Crushed Garlic
Olive Oil

- METHOD FOR BAGELS-
- Mix together your self raising flour and yogurt.
- Knead the dough into a round ball.
- Split into 4 quarters.
- Roll each piece of dough into a log and shape into a ring.
- Add on a greased baking pan.
- Brush with egg.
- Either top with sesame seeds and poppy seeds for bagels.
- Bake in a pre heated oven at 180 degrees celcius for 15 minutes.

- METHOD FOR GARLIC BREAD -
- Mix together your self raising flour and yogurt.
- Knead the dough into a round ball.
- Split into 2 quarters (for longer garlic bread) for smaller garlic bread split into 4 quarters.
- Roll each piece of dough into a log and braid or for smaller garlic breads roll into logs and knot.
- Add on a greased baking pan.
- Brush with egg.
- Either top with a mix of garlic, olive oil and parsley.
- Bake in a pre heated oven at 180 degrees celcius for 15 minutes.
